Description:
The course is designed for every future seafarer. Prior to the first embarkation, a seafarer must hold the certificate of the procedures in case of distress on board ship and the certificate of the basic safety on board ship.
The course comprises a specialized training programme in safety and survival at sea, emergency communication, man overboard, fire on board ship, abandoning ship and first aid. Upon successfully completing this training course the seafarers should be trained and qualified to take immediate action to prevent emergency onboard a ship in accordance with regulation A-VI/1 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended in 1995.
