The course takes full account of section A-VI/4 and Table A-VI/4-1 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended.
This course is designed for all seafarers who are to serve on board sea-going merchant ships that have completed the special training and have passed the examination for acquiring such certificate. All seafarers must hold mentioned certificate prior their first embarkation.
Candidates successfully completing the course will be able to provide immediate basic medical first aid at the scene of an accident or other medical emergency until arrival of a person in charge of medical care aboard.
The course is open to every future seafarer older than 15 years, prior to the first embarkation.
All trainees must be certified by doctor to be in good health.
The course takes full account of the detailed outline set in A34 part of the Regulation on ranks and certification of seafarers (Official Gazette Montenegro number 55/2013). The course is fully compliant with the IMO Model Course 1.14.
